Standard Warranty
All jewelry purchased from Ottawa Opal Shop comes with a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty covers issues related to craftsmanship and materials under normal wear.
What's Covered:
- Manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship
- Loose gemstones due to defective settings
- Broken clasps or closures (when not caused by misuse)
- Tarnishing beyond normal expectations
- Structural integrity issues
What's Not Covered:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by improper care or accidents
- Loss or theft
- Alterations or repairs performed by unauthorized parties
- Natural characteristics of gemstones (inclusions, color variations)
- Damage from exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, or harsh environments
Custom Jewelry Warranty
Custom-designed jewelry pieces come with specific warranty terms that will be discussed and documented during the design process. Generally, custom pieces carry the same one-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Due to the unique nature of custom pieces, certain aspects may have different warranty considerations. These will be clearly communicated before your purchase is finalized.
Extended Warranty
For added peace of mind, we offer an optional extended warranty program that provides coverage for up to three years from the date of purchase. The extended warranty includes:
- All benefits of the standard warranty for an extended period
- One free professional cleaning per year
- One free ring sizing adjustment (if applicable)
- Priority repair service
Extended warranty options are available for purchase within 30 days of your original purchase. Please inquire in-store or contact our customer service for pricing and details.
Making a Warranty Claim
If you believe your jewelry has a defect covered by our warranty, please follow these steps:

- Provide your proof of purchase and a detailed description of the problem, including photos if possible.
- Our team will evaluate your claim and provide instructions for returning the item if necessary.

- If covered, we will repair or replace the item at no cost to you.
